Gioni alla Biennale di Gwangju

Intervista al curatore Massimiliano Gioni pubblicata su Vogue.it:

“Da anni l’Italia ha perso importanza come centro di produzione d’arte, ma continua a dare il suo contributo attraverso il connubio fra arte e moda”.
Oltre a essere responsabile del calendario espositivo di uno dei musei contemporanei più importanti del mondo, Massimiliano Gioni è anche direttore artistico della Fondazione Trussardi. Non sorprende quindi il forte sostegno espresso dal Director of Exhibition del New Museum di New York per il modello che assegna alle maison di haute couture un ruolo centrale nella promozione della produzione artistica.

Besides being the curator of the exhibition program of one of the world’s leading contemporary art museums, Massimiliano Gioni is also the artistic director of the Fondazione Trussardi. It doesn’t surprise, therefore, that a strong support is given by the Director of Exhibition of the New Museum in New York to the model that assigns to haute couture fashion houses a key role in the promotion of artistic production.

“Often the more innovative and experimental projects I have worked on have been financed by leading fashion names”, says Gioni.
